This is a first class hairdressing salon. I received my best ever haircut here on Wednesday after deciding to go for the big chop, having my mid length hair cut into a bob. Gary was a skilled stylist who made me feel at ease from the onset. The complimentary head massage was heavenly and the perfect touch. All the other staff in the salon were friendly, positive and professional and I plan on becoming a regular client. Thanks to you all and keep doing a first class job!

I am really happy with my hair. It is exactly what I wanted. I liked the careful way that Gary cut my hair and he gave me advice on how to manage it.

Wow!! I cannot praise this place enough!! After having a very bad experience at a previous salon, I arrived here looking like Worzel Gummidge!!!! My hair was frazzled after trying to get my desired colour of grey and constant bleaching had severely taken its toll!!! Gary took the time before my appt to have a good look at the damage to my hair and the state of it and was very honest about the fact that my hair was knackered but agreed to try and correct my colour. The next day I had an appt with Amy who was just amazing! She worked wonders on the condition of my hair before getting my colour the way I have been only dreaming about for months! Most importantly she listened to what I really wanted and the result was unbelievable! Apart from leaving the salon feeling extremely delighted with my new colour and cut, the whole experience was the most relaxing few hours I've had in a long time. Such a professional yet friendly environment and the chat from Sydney defo brightened up my day!! I have finally found my forever salon and can't wait until my next appt which is already booked!! Gary, Amy and Sydney you are all my new best friends lol xx

Although I got my appointment time wrong, I was taken right away in a warm and inviting atmosphere and offered a hot drink. Time was taken to choose a hairstyle and the cut is excellent. Gary worked with my hair firmly but very gently, which was a delight to me having a sensitive scalp!:-) Only negative is the lack of disabled parking, or any parking at rush hour times!:-(

Nick says,”The people I’ve met through my working life has been incredible which is just one the passions of the job. I love being around the buzz of the salon and I very much enjoy the opportunities a job like this brings.”
His experience runs form competition work to show work having even headed a team to do the hair for celebrities at the Scottish Baftas.

Ian has been with Westend Hair for 9 years, starting as a Stylist in 2016 and working his way up to become Salon Manager.

Ian has gained a wealth of knowledge with over 12 years experience in hairdressing. His experience runs from completing his training in well established local salons, gaining industry standard qualifications to running a full column of guests before taking on a business single handed.

It was here Ian realised he missed the pull of working in a team atmosphere and joined our Glasgow hairdressing salon.

With a passion for all aspects of styling and colour, Ian’s calming demeanour will set all his guests at ease.

Louise

Hi, I'm Louise. I began my hairdressing journey as an apprentice at Rainbow Room, where I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications over 2 years and 8 months. During this time, I also had the opportunity to be part of a photoshoot, which enhanced my skills in creative cuts and colours.

Now, I'm excited to be part of the team at Westend Hair as a full-time stylist. I'm passionate about all aspects of styling, colouring, and cutting, and I'm always eager to learn new techniques to expand my knowledge. I love the friendly, relaxing atmosphere of the salon and am grateful to be part of such an amazing team. I look forward to welcoming new guests and building my own column of clients.

Craig

Craig has 20 years of experience working in hair salons in the West End. He is highly accomplished in all things cutting and colouring, cutting his teeth under top Glasgow stylists John Comerford and Thomas Civita - then working through the ranks to senior positions within the salon, to which he remained loyal for so long.

He is incredibly passionate about hair and after a short hiatus from the industry, he’s back doing what he loves. Craig says;

“I feel very lucky that I have something I love so much as my job, more so that I have such an awesome environment in which to do it. I’m a very creative person, I need that outlet and doing hair provides it perfectly. I also crave the buzz of a busy salon and being able to take pride in delivering a high level of professionalism and client service.”

Over the years, Craig has done TV and magazine work, whether it be a shoot or doing hair to keep continuity - along with work for top bands at big venues in Glasgow.

He continues to cut some of Glasgow’s muso’s and takes great pride in this, as it’s an industry he is involved in himself (and it’s nice seeing your haircuts on the telly).

After all this, Craig realised, a busy salon and being part of a great team is where it’s at. Bring it on!
